Canadian Drugs –
Reasons Why U.S. Drugs Cost More than Canadian Ones

If you haven’t heard yet, Canadian pharmacies are making a big splash right now because they offer drugs at much lower prices than their American counterparts. Most buyers can save a minimum of 30% by simply changing the country that they buy from, but some save as much as 80% with the right pharmacy. What is the driving force for this price difference then? How can Canada afford to sell their drugs at such cheap prices, or why is America so expensive? These questions and more will be explored below.

One of the prime reasons why Canadian drugs are so much cheaper is because this country implements a pricing regulation that keeps everything at an affordable rate. America doesn’t have that, so places that release new drugs on the market can literally sell them for whatever they want. Most companies will drop prices in time to keep up with competition, but if there is no competition, they have no reason to reduce. This lack of regulation is one of the biggest problems in America, and it’s why so many people go out of the country to get the same drugs they need at a much lower cost.

American pharmacies also put a lot more money into advertising than Canadian ones do. Canadian drugs are promoted mainly through doctor recommendation, though there are those companies that invest in a lot of marketing. Because of the media hype in America, drug producers must spend millions of dollars a year on marketing alone just to get their name out. They don’t pay for this though. The consumers do. This is one of the reasons why prices are so much higher in America, because the customers are having to pay for the costs of advertising on top of the already high cost of the drugs themselves.

The only problem in all of this is that people don’t know about the great savings to be found in Canadian drugs. Americans are spending thousands and perhaps even millions of dollars a year on medications from their country, and they never stop to realize that there are options out there. Now at least you are aware of the potential for savings so you can make the switch today. The drugs you find in Canada are the same as they are in America. The only thing that changes is the amount of money you spend for them.
